A room is priced by who sleeps in it
Single, double, triple, the extra bed, the child under six and the child under twelve — the quote reads the occupancy, and the channel receives the same table.
A double room for one person is not the price of a double room for three. The rate card holds a price per occupancy band — single, double, triple, quad — an extra-adult charge, and two child bands, and the quote at the desk reads the number of adults and children on the booking and prices the night from the right cell.
On the channel
The OTAs want the same table, in their own shape: a rate per occupancy, the extra-adult supplement, the child policy. The channel manager sends the grid the card holds, so the price a guest sees on the OTA for three adults is the price the desk would quote for three adults.
On the booking page
The hotel's own page asks how many adults and children before it searches, and the rooms and rates that come back are already for that party. There is no "price from" that turns into something else at the last step.
