Channel manager Live

What is pushed, and when

Rates, rooms and restrictions go the moment they change. The channel is told more than we have on purpose, and told less when the house keeps rooms back.

A change on the rate card, a booking taken at the desk, a block on a room, a closed date — each makes a push. The push carries exactly what changed, for the nights it changed, and is sent within the minute. The channel's answer is kept beside it.

Inventory

For each type and night the channel is told how many rooms it may sell. That number is the free count, less any rooms the hotel keeps for walk-ins, plus the overbooking allowance the hotel has chosen for that type. A booking that lands into a type the allowance oversold is not a failure — it is on the chart, waiting for a room, and the desk decides.

Rates

The full occupancy grid per plan — single, double, triple, the extra adult, the child bands — in the shape the channel's extranet uses, so a price on the OTA for three adults is the price the desk would quote.

Restrictions

Minimum stay, closed to arrival, closed to departure and stop-sell, per type and night, in the channel's own field names.

The channel stays in step

A booking taken at the desk between two queued pushes is still a booking: the queue reads the chart at send time, not at queue time, so the count the channel receives is the count that is true when it arrives.
