The group adds up across its hotels
One statement for a hotel, for a legal entity's hotels, or for the whole account — profit and loss, balance sheet, consolidated trial balance — and the owner's page: equity, the result, distributions, the FF&E reserve.
Two hotels under one company, or several companies under one owner, had no view of the whole. The group screen sums the hotels of a scope by account code, so the group statement is made of the hotel statements and cannot drift from them.
Scope
A hotel; a legal entity and its hotels; the account and its entities. The operating statement, the balance sheet and the trial balance for each, with the hotel that carried each figure behind it. The balance sheet carries an eliminations line for balances between group companies — zero until a customer has two entities, and the rail is laid: a journal belongs to one entity and every line's account to that same entity, so a cross-entity transaction is two linked journals and never one malformed one.
The owner's page
Opening equity, the result for the period, capital moved, distributions, closing equity, and the FF&E reserve funded as a memo. An owner distribution reduces equity and is refused beyond the entity's retained result. The FF&E reserve is a percentage of a month's revenue set aside under the management contract, once per month.
What waits for a second entity
Posting between group companies and the elimination journal at consolidation, with its approval; presenting the group in a reporting currency. Each is built when a customer has two legal entities to prove it against, not before.
