Form C and the foreign guest

A foreign guest's arrival is reported to the FRRO in its own format, raised from the registration already taken, and kept as a register the hotel can read back.

Indian law requires a hotel to report every foreign guest's arrival within twenty-four hours. The form is raised from the registration the desk already took — the passport, the visa, the arrival in India, the nationality — so nothing is typed a second time.

What is kept

A Form C register: every form raised, for whom, when, by whom, and its status — a report the manual explains step by step.

The nationality guard

A guest recorded as foreign must have the fields the form needs; a guest recorded as Indian is never asked for a visa. The desk is told at check-in what is still missing.
