The closed day can be read back
The night audit statement — the one document a manager reads every morning, an owner is sent, and an auditor asks for by the month.
"Do we have a night audit report in our reports?" There was a pack called Night audit and daily, and every row in it was a piece of the audit — revenue, tax, postings, no-shows — but the closing statement itself was not in it. Now it is.
What is on it
- Rooms occupied, arrivals, departures, no-shows, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR.
- Revenue by head — rooms, food, banquet, other — and tax by slab.
- Tenders by mode, what was transferred to company accounts, what is outstanding.
- The no-shows and what each was charged.
- The day book: what was actually collected, tender by tender, against what was billed.
Net of what was taken back
The day's revenue is net of credit notes and reversals on that day, so the statement agrees with the return.
By the month
The same statement for any closed day, and the month's run of them, exportable. What the owner was sent by mail that morning is this page.
